Bishop Bob Jackson
Bishop Bob Jackson was born in Berkeley, California in 1945. He attended Oakland Public Schools and graduated from Castlemont High School in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1968.
He has received an A. A. Bishop Jackson graduated from the Oakland Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy in 2002.
Bishop Jackson received the LORD JESUS CHRIST in 1977 and was called to pastor in 1984. He began ACTS FULL GOSPEL CHURCH in Oakland with thirteen members. The church has grown to over 7,000 members. Bishop Jackson credits the growth of the church to the Seven Steps to the Kingdom evangelism method that the church uses. This approach has also been taught to churches all across the United States and even on foreign land.
Under Bishop Jackson’s leadership, the church has a community development program, a school (Acts Christian Academy) for pre-school to eighth grade, a 166-acre camp, and a Teen Church.
In 2001, Bishop Jackson founded the Men of Valor Academy for at-risk and disadvantaged males, who (due to a lack of education, vocational training, employment and positive role models) resort to a life of crime and violence. The Academy is designed to give these men an opportunity to re-direct their lives in a positive manner by addressing the root cause of violence.
In 2001, Bishop Jackson was appointed as the National Director of the Soul Winning Department for the Church of God in Christ. He was also appointed as an Auxiliary Bishop in the Church of God in Christ in 2003.
Bishop Jackson is the president of the Pastors of Oakland, a group of over 40 pastors who work together on community issues and concerns. He is also the president of the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce, which was founded to help develop and encourage Black businesses in Oakland.
Bishop Jackson is married and has five children.
